How can I buy a ticket for SailGP?
Tickets can be purchased online here.
Please note tickets must be purchased online in advance and can not be purchased at the venue on the day. There are two ticket types available for the Race Stadium:

The ticket types are Waterfront Grandstand and Waterfront Premium, available in the following categories: Regular, Concession, Family (2 regular + 2 concession tickets, with a 10% discount), Combo (1 ticket for each day – May 3 and 4 – with a 10% discount), Concession Combo, and Family Combo. (Button: Click here for more information). Tickets for wheelchair users are also available: Waterfront Grandstand Accessible and Waterfront Premium Accessible. These tickets are priced at the concession rate and include 1 free ticket for a companion.

The event is on Saturday 3rd & Sunday 4th May 2025.

The Race Stadium is open from 13:45 – 17:30 each day, please note these times are subject to change. Plan ahead and arrive early to leave plenty of time for our entry searches and ticket checks.

Racing is scheduled between 15:00 – 16:30 (subject to change), with three races each day (weather dependent). Updates or changes to the schedule due to inclement weather will be communicated via our website.

Our F50’s are exhilaratingly fast, and the race leader can change in the blink of an eye – we recommend staying in your seats during the racing so you don’t miss any excitement out on the water! NOTE: Grandstand seating is unreserved, so the best viewing spots are first come, first served. Please do not leave any belongings unattended, including using them to reserve seats whilst visiting other Race Stadium facilities.

Our Race Stadium has something for all Fans to enjoy. Learn more about what it takes to be a SailGP athlete in our Inspire Zone. Our Waterfront Grandstand viewing areas ensure you have an elevated space to watch the F50’s zoom by, complemented by pre-show entertainment, expert local commentary and broadcast graphics on our large screens. A selection of locally sourced, sustainable foods and beverages will be available to purchase (see Food & Drink section).

After the last race, it’s time to get the party started! The Race Stadium will stay open until 17:30. As well as enjoying the music, visit the Fan Shop for a take home souvenir, and soak up the atmosphere with a last drink at the bar to end your visit in style.

Details of how to obtain your ticket will be provided in your order confirmation email. Tickets will be scanned at the gates for fast entry – on your mobile device.  Please check your spam folder in case your tickets have been diverted from your inbox. Re-entry to the Event will not be allowed if the participant leaves the event venue, even if they are still wearing the access wristband or holding the ticket used for entry.

At SailGP, we are committed to providing an inclusive environment for everyone. As part of this, we will endeavor to make our services, facilities and event sites as accessible as possible to ensure no one feels excluded. If you’d like to see additional facilities at a SailGP event, or if you have any other personal requirements, please contact us.

Tickets for wheelchair accessible viewing and easy access viewing are available for purchase as a separate item from general access tickets, which will ensure access to a reserved viewing section. Companions attending with spectators with accessible requirements are welcome to join them in the viewing area. When selecting your WHEELCHAIR AND AMBULANT ACCESSIBLE ticket ensure you select 1 companion ticket free of charge.

A quiet room facility will also be available for use for all ticket types within the stadium.

Carers for persons with disabilities are entitled to a free ticket which is included upon selection of your accessible ticket, you will see this option will be unlocked to add to your basket upon selecting your accessible ticket.

Race Stadium facilities are accessible to all, including catering and bar outlets, the Fan Shop and toilets. Unfortunately no hearing loop is available at this event. 

Registered assistance dogs are permitted, including into our unreserved grandstand seating. There is no specific dog spending area in the event site, however our re-entry policy facilitates leaving and re-entering the Race Stadium (subject to bag searches upon re-entry).

Some kerbs are situated around the event space and parking areas, but ramped access will be available to all areas. Viewing areas within the grandstands for people of determination will be accessed via ramps, where our Event Ambassadors are available to provide assistance as necessary.

Only the premium grandstands are shaded.

The event is scheduled to take place rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather causing the cancellation of racing, refunds would be offered in line with the Refund Policy on our website.

As this is an outdoor event you are advised to dress appropriately for the weather. If the forecast is looking hot and sunny, remember to bring a hat, high SPF sun cream and drink plenty of water.

NOTE: absolutely no single use disposable bottles are permitted, so bring a reusable water bottle and use our free refill water points to stay hydrated through the afternoon.

There is no official dress code for SailGP events, but we are an outdoor event so we strongly recommend you prepare for the weather forecast. Bring a hat, high SPF sunscreen and drink plenty of water if sunny weather is forecast. Pack a raincoat and warmer layers if rain is looking more likely. NOTE: large umbrellas are not permitted in the grandstands as this will disrupt the view for other fans.

There is no public parking onsite.

Yes. If you have indicated accessibility requirements when booking your ticket, our ticketing team will reach out to you for a dedicated ADA parking space close to the Race Stadium entrance up to 1 week prior to the event. Please contact sac@riosailgp.com.br if you require ADA parking and have not been contacted directly.

For your safety, it is a condition of entry that all bags are subject to inspection by our security team before you can enter the event site. Carefully check the list of prohibited items (see Security section or Event Terms & Conditions) to ensure you don’t accidentally bring a forbidden item on the day. Please do not leave bags or personal items unattended or anywhere they could cause concern for our security team, and all items are brought to the event at your own risk.

One bag that does not exceed 30 x 30cm may be brought into the event site. In addition, guests may also carry in a small clutch bag or purse approximately the size of a hand, with or without a handle or strap.

Yes. You are not permitted to bring in glass, cans, single-use plastic (including disposable water bottles), BBQs, weapons, illegal substances, fireworks, flares, political items, speakers etc into the event site. This is not an exhaustive list and any permissible items are at the discretion of our Security Manager based on our local licensing conditions. Forbidden items will be confiscated and disposed of by our security staff before you can enter the event site. Confiscated items cannot be returned at the end of your visit. Dogs, aside from registered assistance dogs, are not permitted within the event site.

Yes. Race Stadium ticket holders can bring in cameras, however photography or filming for commercial purposes is not permitted.  We reserve the right to change this policy at any time, so please check back before your visit for the latest information.

No. There is a legally enforced Air Exclusion Zone in place during the event. Unauthorized drones are strictly prohibited on or in the vicinity of the event site and our on water race course, as they are dangerous to SailGP helicopter and drone operations.

There will be a selection of food & beverage available for purchase within the race stadium.

Please recycle all your leftover food packaging using the recycling bins positioned around the event site.

NOTE: Our vendors all strive to purchase their ingredients from sustainable and local sources as much as possible, so their actual menus and prices may be different on the day.

Unfortunately no external food, drinks or coolboxes can be brought into the Race Stadium, Exceptions will only be made for medically necessary items or baby food after proper inspection.

Please bring your own reusable water bottle and make the most of our free drinking water refill stations. For your safety, if you are bringing a reusable water bottle into the Race Stadium, we may request a sniff and/or sip test to ensure there is no dangerous substance inside.

SailGP works to divert as much waste from landfill as possible, so absolutely no single use plastic bottles are permitted in the Race Stadium. These will be confiscated during our entry searches and recycled by our local waste management vendor.

Separate male and female toilet facilities, including accessible facilities are available inside the Race Stadium.

Yes, there will be a quiet room on site.

Absolutely, treat yourself to some official SailGP merchandise from our Fan Shop. A wide range of quality items are available to buy whilst the Race Stadium is open.

Our first aid team will be situated in the Race Stadium. Please ask one of them if you need assistance during your visit.

Unfortunately there is no left luggage facility available within the Race Stadium. Please plan ahead and check the prohibited items list and permitted bag sizes before you leave your home.  Prohibited items will be confiscated and disposed of by our security staff before you can enter the event site. Confiscated items cannot be returned at the end of your visit. 

Our Race Stadium is a no smoking site (including e-cigarettes and vapes).

General lost property will be taken to the Information Point just outside the Race Stadium entrance. Please ask one of our Event Ambassadors if you need any assistance. Items found in the Race Stadium will be kept until the end of Sunday 4 May and then disposed of.

Children are permitted into the Race Stadium, for children under the age of 12 please select a Concession ticket.

All children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Children under 5 years of age can access our Race Stadium free of charge. Please be aware that all under 5’s must sit on the lap of an adult if sitting in our unreserved grandstand.

Whilst buggies are permitted inside the event site please be aware that there is no left luggage area or baby change facility.

Concession tickets can be purchased for guests who are students, senior citizens (over 60), and ADA visitors and children between 6 and 12 years old (children under 5 years old are free).

Accessibility tickets are separate from Grandstand tickets. These tickets guarantee access to a reserved viewing section suitable for wheelchair access and limited mobility guests. Companions accompanying guests with accessibility needs are welcome to join them in the viewing area. When you select an accessible ticket, you will receive one for yourself and one for your companion.
